About the Author

The researcher behind this project brings a unique combination of academic expertise and hands-on field experience to the study of Eurasian connectivity. Having completed advanced studies in East Asian affairs at a leading London university, they went on to work at a prominent Berlin-based think tank specialising in contemporary Chinese policy analysis.

With over half a decade of experience in research and journalism, this project represents a natural evolution—moving from desk-based analysis to ground-level investigation. The journey from Western Europe to East Asia provides an opportunity to witness firsthand how infrastructure initiatives translate into tangible changes for communities along the route.

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and currently expanding linguistic capabilities to include Russian, the author contributes regular dispatches to the Berlin Policy Journal and has been published in various international policy publications. For the latest updates and analysis, visit the China Road Blog.
